Alto Saxophone Selmer Adolphe Sax LE Pearl Lacquer
This beautiful new Selmer Limited Edition is in honour of Adolphe Sax who was born 200 years ago.
For many years the Selmer Paris company has strived to adapt and evolve the Saxophone for the modern day, this Limited Edition Alto Sax pays homage to the great designs of Selmers of the past but with the modern advances in technology.
The instrument has various design and keywork features that pay homage to models of years gone by. The simple single line key gaurds and nickel touchpieces are similar to those used on some of the Adolphe Sax original instruments. The body to bell brace and octave key on the neck pay homage to the Model 22, a Selmer model from the 1920s. Finally, the octave key on the body is modelled on the design from the original Balanced Action Saxes and feels just right.
The instrument is also finished in a matt silver with bright plated keys. It blows in some ways like a hybrid, arguably the best of old and new in one package. It has a singing tone but with plenty of depth, warmth and bite when required.
Each Limited Edition Alto Sax is individually numbered with a special serial no. Just 500 of these models have been produced for the worldwide marketplace ensuring this Selmer will have a special place of it's own in the history of Sax manufacturing.
