The Audix D4 is equipped with a hypercardioid pattern. This stands for a high level of isolation from unwanted background noise - especially on noisy stages. The D4 is suitable for any live performance and any broadcast application. Thanks to the given characteristics and the patented VLM capsule, an accurate and very natural reproduction of the recorded signal is guaranteed.
The D4 is a lightweight and very compact instrument microphone that can be quickly and easily positioned on the instrument. Thanks to the extended frequency response from 40 Hz to 18 Hz and the ability to process high sound pressures of up to 144 dB, make the D4 the first choice when it comes to recording low-frequency and percussive instruments. These include large rack toms, standing toms, cajons, djembes, kettledrum, Leslie cabinets (lower part), bass flutes, saxophones and baritone saxophones, trombones, clarinets, acoustic basses, electric bass cabinets or even small kicks -Drums.
The high-quality metal die-cast housing with zinc alloy is equipped with a sturdy steel basket that effectively protects the capsule behind. This high mechanical level guarantees a low probability of failure and a very long service life.
