Dampit Violin In-Instrument Humidifier (Made in USA)
The original Dampit® humidifier has been protecting instruments worldwide since 1960. Invented by Ralph Hollander, it is designed to fit inside the instrument, where it slowly and evenly releases moisture. Regular use of Dampit prevents warping, cracking, and ungluing caused by dry air and central heating, keeping your violin sounding its best.

Instructions for Use
- Immerse: Immerse the Dampit in water (use distilled or softened water in hard water areas).
- Squeeze & Dry: Squeeze the Dampit gently to remove excess water until it no longer drips. Gently wipe the outer tube completely dry.
- Insert: Insert the humidifier through the sound hole (F-hole) into the instrument and secure with the button guard.
- Recharge: When the Dampit is nearly dry, repeat the process above.
Key Features & Care Notes:
- The Dampit may remain inside the violin while playing — there is no tonal loss.
- Use Dampit only during dry weather or central heating seasons.
- Store your instrument in the coolest part of the room, away from radiators and heating vents.
- The enclosed humidity indicator helps detect changes in ambient moisture: when the middle circle turns lavender or blue, it is time to use your Dampit.
