Edgware Brass Wash — Eco-Friendly Deep Cleaning Solution for Brass Instruments
Edgware Brass Wash is an all-natural, biodegradable concentrated cleaning liquid specifically engineered for the safe, thorough cleaning and sanitising of brass instruments. Designed and blended in the UK, it provides an eco-conscious, non-toxic alternative to harsh household detergents and aggressive degreasers that can degrade lacquer and accelerate red rot or metal oxidation.
✔ 100% Biodegradable & Petroleum-Free
Key Features & Benefits
- Pure Botanical Formula: Free from harsh detergents, toxins, synthetic fragrances, and petroleums. Infused with natural essential oils for a clean, fresh finish.
- Dissolves Dirt & Built-Up Grease: Effortlessly breaks down dried oil residues, saliva deposits, mineral scale, and grime deep inside the tubing without stripping metal.
- Finish-Safe Chemistry: Balanced pH formulation safe on all instrument surfaces — raw brass, clear/gold lacquer, silver plating, and gold plating.
- Economical Concentrate: High-yield formula — just a few capfuls in a lukewarm bath create an effective cleaning bath for your entire horn.
- Universal Instrument Care: Suitable for trumpets, cornets, flugelhorns, trombones, French horns, euphoniums, tubas, and all brass mouthpieces.
- Sustainable UK Packaging: Packaged in a recyclable PET bottle inside a compostable wood-pulp Nature-Flex bag, finished with a 100% recycled EU label and UK-crafted twine.
Pro Tip: Always remove valves, pistons, and slides with felts, pads, or corks before soaking to protect delicate organic parts. Never use boiling or hot water, as it may soften or peel delicate lacquer finishes.
How to Use:
- Disassemble the instrument (remove all slides and valve assemblies).
- Fill a basin or bathtub with lukewarm water and add 2–4 capfuls of Edgware Brass Wash.
- Submerge the parts and allow them to soak for 10–15 minutes to loosen inner buildup.
- Clean the tubing and slides using an appropriate flexible snake brush or casing brush.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean running water and dry completely with a lint-free cloth.
