J. Meinlschmidt JM008 Slide Grease – Synthetic is a professional synthetic grease for brass instrument tuning slides. Developed to provide long-lasting sealing, corrosion protection and reliable resistance to sticking.
Features and benefits
JM008 offers excellent adhesion and temperature resistance. The grease stays on the mating slide surfaces, maintains an effective seal and helps prevent lump formation at the ends of tuning slides.
It does not resinify or harden into sticky deposits and protects against wear and corrosion. It is odourless and, according to Meinlschmidt, manufactured in Germany using climate-neutral processes.
Instrument compatibility
Designed for stationary tuning slides on trumpets, cornets, flugelhorns, French horns, trombones, euphoniums, tubas and other brass instruments.
Unlike the thinner JM005 Slide Oil, which is primarily suitable for frequently operated slides, JM008 provides longer-lasting adhesion and sealing for conventional tuning slides. JM007 Slide Gel is an alternative with a gel consistency.

Application and care
Remove the tuning slide and clean away any dirt and old lubricant. Apply a thin, even layer of JM008 to the inner slide tubes. Reinstall the slide and move it gently several times to distribute the grease. Wipe away excess product.
Important: JM008 is intended for tuning slides, not for piston valves, rotary valves or bearings. Never force a seized tuning slide; consult a qualified brass instrument repair technician.
