J. Meinlschmidt JM011 Rotor Oil 11 – Synthetic is a professional synthetic oil specifically formulated for rotary valves in brass instruments. It promotes fast valve response, smooth rotor movement and long-lasting protection of the mechanism.
Features and benefits
JM011 reduces friction between working valve surfaces, supporting smooth rotation and responsive operation. Its synthetic formulation protects against wear, corrosion and deposits.
The oil is odourless, non-clumping and designed for long-lasting lubrication. Meinlschmidt also states that its production is climate-neutral.
Instrument compatibility
JM011 is intended for rotary valves in French horns, valve trombones, trombones with F attachments, tubas, tenor horns, baritones and other brass instruments equipped with rotary valve mechanisms.
For spindle bearings and linkages, Meinlschmidt offers separate lubricants such as JM013 Bearing Oil and JM013.5 Bearing & Linkage Oil. Piston valves require an appropriate lubricant from the JM Valve Oil range.

Application recommendations
Apply a small amount of oil to the rotary valve's designated working surfaces according to the instrument's construction. Operate the valve several times to distribute the lubricant. Remove old lubricant before changing oil types.
Important: rotor surface lubrication is different from lubricating spindle bearings and linkages. Follow the instrument manufacturer's instructions for valve disassembly. Keep out of reach of children and observe the product label.
