J. Meinlschmidt JM013.5 Bearing & Linkage Oil – Synthetic is a professional synthetic lubricant for bearings, spindles and mechanical linkages in brass instruments. It is formulated for rotary valve mechanisms with average bearing clearance.

Features and benefits

JM013.5 forms a lubricating film between moving metal surfaces, reducing friction and providing long-lasting protection against wear and corrosion. It maintains smooth operation without restricting the movement of the mechanism.

Suitable for slide bearings, axle bearings and bearings with lubrication grooves. The oil is odourless and non-clumping. Meinlschmidt states that the product is manufactured using climate-neutral processes.

Instrument compatibility

Designed for rotary valve bearings and linkages in French horns, trombones with F attachments, tubas, tenor horns, baritones and other brass instruments. It can also be used for suitable slide and axle bearings in other musical instruments.

JM013, JM013.5 or JM015?

JM013 Bearing Oil is intended for new, closely fitted bearings. JM013.5 Bearing & Linkage Oil is formulated for average bearing clearance. The heavier JM015 Spacefiller Oil is designed for mechanisms with increased clearance and worn joints.

Application and maintenance

Clean accessible lubrication points of dirt and old oil. Apply a small amount of JM013.5 to the bearings and linkage joints, then operate the mechanism several times. A needle applicator is recommended for precise dispensing.

Important: JM013.5 is primarily intended for bearings and mechanical joints. For internal rotary valve working surfaces, Meinlschmidt offers JM011 Rotor Oil. Follow the instrument manufacturer's maintenance instructions and the product label.
