J. Meinlschmidt Hydro-Jet M1 is a flexible cleaning hose with a hydro nozzle for flushing the internal tubing of tubas and other low brass instruments. Pressurised water helps remove accumulated dirt from long tubes, bends and hard-to-reach sections.

Features and benefits

The specially designed hydro nozzle directs multiple water jets towards the instrument's internal surfaces. The system works with ordinary household water pressure and requires no electric pump or cleaning chemicals.

Its 2.5 m hose, with an 8 mm diameter, is flexible enough to follow accessible bends in larger brass tubing. The Hydro-Jet M1 connects directly to a standard shower hose in place of the shower head.

Instrument compatibility

The M1 is primarily designed for tubas and low brass instruments, including euphoniums, baritones, tenor horns and trombones. For narrower tubing in trumpets, cornets and flugelhorns, Meinlschmidt offers the Hydro-Jet S1 with a 6 mm diameter and 1.5 m hose.

The system is suitable for flushing accessible tubing and removed tuning slides. It does not replace professional cleaning in cases of heavy mineral deposits or blocked valve mechanisms.

How to use the Hydro-Jet M1

Unscrew the shower head and connect the Hydro-Jet M1 to the 1/2″ threaded hose. Carefully insert the nozzle into an appropriate instrument opening or a removed tuning slide. Turn on the water at moderate pressure and move the hose slowly through accessible sections. Drain and thoroughly dry the instrument after cleaning.

Important: use water at a suitable temperature, avoid directing strong jets at delicate mechanical parts and never force the hose through tight bends. Renew valve and tuning-slide lubrication after cleaning. The shower hose is not included.
