J. Meinlschmidt Hydro-Jet S1 is a water-powered cleaning system for the internal tubing of brass instruments. Its 1.5 m flexible hose and special hydro nozzle help remove deposits from bends and hard-to-reach areas that are difficult to access with a conventional cleaning brush.

Features and benefits

The specialised nozzle produces six focused water jets to loosen and flush away internal dirt and deposits. Effective cleaning is possible using normal household water pressure.

The highly flexible hose has a diameter of 6 mm. No pump or electrical equipment is required: the Hydro-Jet S1 connects directly to a standard shower hose in place of the shower head.

Instrument compatibility

Especially suitable for trumpets, cornets and flugelhorns. It can also be used for accessible tubing in French horns, tenor horns, baritones and euphoniums, provided the internal bore allows safe insertion.

For tubas and larger low-brass tubing, Meinlschmidt offers the Hydro-Jet M1 with a wider and longer hose.

How to use the Hydro-Jet S1

Remove the shower head and connect the Hydro-Jet to the 1/2″ threaded shower hose. Carefully insert the flexible cleaning tube through the mouthpipe, bell or an opening left by a removed tuning slide. Turn on the water gradually and move the nozzle slowly through accessible tubing. Removed slides can also be rinsed separately.

Important: use moderate water temperature and pressure suitable for the instrument. Do not force the nozzle through tight bends or valve mechanisms. Drain and dry the instrument thoroughly afterwards, then renew lubrication where required. The shower hose is not included.
