Splint Cutter for Guitar Top repair Ibex
Most common repair of a crack of a guitar top is by inserting a tapered splint.
The Ibex splint cutter executes an angled cut to form a tapered groove for a splint.
Brass body, steel blade.

Beautfully made, but expensive for what it does.
I note that guitar top cracks are best repaired with a TAPERED splint which this tool does not do, unless referring to a longitudinal taper shape. The Ibex produces a straight vertical cut, requiring later tedious removal of wood to produce a clean channel. I intend to fit my Ibex with a removable ANGLED base plate so that the cut is on a bevel. Place 2 cuts close enough together, and you will have a V-shaped channel with the waste removed automatically!
