Thomastik Dominant Pro Gold-Plated E String (DP01AU)
This gold-plated E-string Thomastik Dominant Pro DP01AU produces a very warm, clear sound that simultaneously conveys brilliance. In addition, the string is extremely corrosion-resistant.
Unlike the tin-plated NR.DP01, the sound has a bell-like clarity, making individual tonal colors distinct and individually distinguishable. Combined with its excellent projection, it can easily cut through an orchestra or chamber music ensemble when needed.
Important Notes: If your overall setup (instrument, rosin, bow hair, and bowing technique) is fundamentally prone to whistling, the NR.DP01AU might not be ideal. In this case, we recommend the standard tin-plated NR.DP01. As usual, when using a hook-style fine tuner, you must ensure that its sharp edges are rounded off ("deburred"), otherwise the gold-plated string is more likely to break at the fine tuner than, for example, a tin-plated string.
