Thomastik Dominant Pro E String (DP01PT)
Of all the E-strings in the DOMINANT PRO® line, the NR.DP01PT offers the highest projection. It perfectly combines the clarity of the gold-plated version (NR.DP01AU) with the improved bow response of the standard tin-plated version (NR.DP01).
Like the gold-plated model, the NR.DP01PT is extremely corrosion-resistant, but it offers even more brilliance and is significantly less prone to whistling.
Due to its larger diameter (0.268 mm compared to 0.265 mm for the DP01 and DP01AU), the DP01PT offers greater resistance to bow pressure. This makes it much better suited for instruments with a very low string action than the other two E-strings in the series.
Important Notes: Due to its outstanding projection and clarity, this string may be unsuitable for players with highly sensitive ears. Also, when using a hook-style fine tuner, you must ensure that its sharp edges are rounded off ("deburred") to prevent the string from breaking.
