Thomastik Dominant Pro E String (DP01SN)
Compared to the other E-strings in the DOMINANT PRO® line, the NR.DP01SN has a smaller diameter, making it perfectly suited for instruments with a normal to high string action.
Unlike the standard NR.DP01, the NR.DP01SN does not have a nickel underlay, making it slightly more susceptible to corrosion. However, thanks to a thicker layer of tin plating, it sounds warmer than the standard NR.DP01 and much warmer than the gold-plated (NR.DP01AU) and platinum-plated (NR.DP01PT) versions.
It features the lowest string tension of all DOMINANT PRO® E-strings. This places very little strain on the instrument, allowing its acoustic properties to open up incredibly well. This leads to a great bow response and further enhances the instrument's natural radiance and resonance.
Important Notes: Due to its low string tension, the NR.DP01SN also has the lowest bow pressure resistance of all DOMINANT PRO® E-strings. It performs best with a more delicate and nuanced bowing technique.
Thomastik Dominant Pro Violin String Set (DP100)
The Thomastik-Infeld Dominant Pro (DP100) string set is the modern evolution of the world’s most legendary and widely used violin strings. While retaining the foundational warmth and versatility of the classic Dominant, the Pro version offers soloists and orchestral musicians an entirely new level of power, dynamic range, and tonal color.
These synthetic core strings feature a massive dynamic range: they can whisper in soft pianissimos and deliver a powerful, punchy, and focused sound in fortissimos. Dominant Pro strings exhibit an exceptionally high resistance to bow pressure, allowing players to draw a dense, projecting sound without distortion. Another major advantage is their incredibly short play-in time—the strings reveal their true, sophisticated character almost immediately after installation.
