Westminster London Cork Grease by BBICO, 20ml
The Westminster London Cork Grease is a professional-grade lubricant and conditioner specifically formulated for woodwind instrument tenons. Produced in the United Kingdom by the British Band Instrument Company (BBICO), this formula is designed to preserve the suppleness, resilience, and sealing qualities of natural cork on clarinets, saxophones, oboes, bassoons, and wooden flutes.
Superior Joint Care and Long-Term Protection
Tenon and neck corks undergo constant compression, friction, and moisture exposure during daily practice and performance. Untreated cork rapidly dries out, cracks, and tears, leading to acoustic leaks, instability, and poor intonation. Stiff joints also increase the risk of players inadvertently bending delicate rods, posts, and keys when forcing sections together.
The Westminster London formula conditions the cellular structure of cork, creating an enduring, moisture-resistant barrier that stays slick without becoming gummy or degrading instrument adhesives. It ensures effortless, low-friction assembly while maintaining full airtight integrity.
- Effortless Assembly: Minimizes joint friction, protecting precision key mechanisms and body joints from accidental stress during setup.
- Long-Lasting Air Seal: Keeps cork supple and resilient, preventing pressure loss across all registers.
- High-Capacity 20ml Tin: Generous tin provides several times the volume of typical plastic twist-up sticks, making it exceptionally economical.
- Robust Metal Packaging: Screw-top aluminium tin will not crack or open inside gig bags, protecting the grease from contamination and drying out.
- Controlled Finger Application: Smooth consistency allows thin, uniform coating directly onto the cork surface.

Directions for Use
Wipe the cork joint with a lint-free cloth to remove dirt and accumulated residue. Take a small amount of grease using a clean fingertip and apply an even, thin layer around the circumference of the cork. Assemble the instrument sections gently using a smooth twisting motion. Wipe away any surplus lubricant from the instrument surface. Store in a cool, dry place with the lid tightly closed.
