YBRATO ReedReflector Full Titan is a professional titanium alto saxophone ligature featuring a solid titanium reflector. Designed and manufactured in Germany, its precision construction provides secure reed positioning, responsive articulation and precise adjustment of the clamping force. Unlike versions combining different materials, Full Titan uses titanium for both the ligature body and the ReedReflector element.

Sound and playing characteristics

The ligature secures the reed against the mouthpiece and determines the conditions of mechanical contact. The ReedReflector design minimizes the contact area while maintaining a secure grip on the reed.

The solid titanium reflector touches the reed through two longitudinal rails. According to YBRATO, this design helps minimize reed vibration damping while promoting a responsive feel, rich overtones and effective sound projection.

The actual playing experience depends on the complete setup, including the mouthpiece, reed, instrument and playing technique. Ligature material is one of several factors affecting the response.

Full Titan key feature: a titanium body combined with a solid, precision CNC-milled titanium reflector. Two longitudinal contact rails provide secure reed positioning with a minimal contact area.

Full titanium construction

Titanium combines high strength relative to its weight, corrosion resistance and comparatively low density. These properties make it a suitable material for precision-engineered musical accessories.

In the Full Titan version, the ReedReflector element is also machined from titanium using precision CNC technology. Its two longitudinal rails make direct contact with the reed.

The ligature band features mechanically joined, solder-free construction. An integrated left-hand and right-hand threaded tightening mechanism provides even clamping and accurate centering on the mouthpiece. The ergonomically knurled adjustment screw makes reed installation and replacement convenient.

YBRATO ligatures are produced in small batches and assembled by hand in Munich, Germany.

YBRATO – Innovative Saxophone and Clarinet Ligatures from Germany

YBRATO is a German manufacturer of professional ligatures for saxophones and clarinets. The brand was founded by saxophonist Markus Maier in Munich. The company focuses on innovative ligature designs that allow musicians to control reed positioning, vibration, response and tonal characteristics with greater precision.

The YBRATO concept originated in 2020 from an exploration of the acoustic properties of reeds and their interaction with mouthpieces. The development process combines historical instrument-making principles with modern engineering technologies.

YBRATO Ligatures

The manufacturer's range includes two main product series:

  • SweetSpot – an innovative ligature featuring a patent-pending mechanism for adjustable reed-tip positioning. The design enables both symmetrical and asymmetrical adjustment to influence reed vibration and response.
  • ReedReflector – a ligature featuring a distinctive reed-clamping design, developed for secure reed positioning, convenient adjustment and efficient vibration transfer.

Designed and Manufactured in Germany

YBRATO ligatures are developed and manufactured in small batches in Munich, Germany. Precision metal components are produced using modern CNC machining technology, while final assembly is performed by hand.

The manufacturer places particular emphasis on machining accuracy, clamping mechanism design, ease of reed installation and long-term durability.

YBRATO products are intended for professional musicians and demanding players who value precise adjustments to reed response, articulation and the tonal characteristics of their instruments.
