Sound and playing characteristics
The ligature secures the reed against the clarinet mouthpiece. The contact area, positioning of the supporting surfaces and evenness of the clamping pressure can influence reed response, articulation and playing feel.
The YBRATO ReedReflector Full Titan features a solid titanium reflector manufactured using precision CNC machining. Two longitudinal rails support the reed while reducing the contact area and maintaining a secure grip.
According to the manufacturer, the ReedReflector concept promotes free reed vibration, an overtone-rich sound and effective projection. Actual playing results depend on the combination of mouthpiece, reed, clarinet and playing technique.
Full Titan key feature: both the ligature body and the solid CNC-milled reflector are made from titanium. Two longitudinal contact rails provide secure reed positioning with a reduced contact area. Unlike the Titanium edition, the Full Titan specification explicitly identifies titanium as the reflector material.
Titanium construction and clamping mechanism
Titanium offers high strength, corrosion resistance and relatively low density. These properties make it suitable for a durable professional ligature.
The ligature band features a mechanically joined construction without soldered connections. The solid titanium reflector is precision CNC-milled and positioned on the reed-facing side.
The tightening mechanism incorporates left-hand and right-hand threads for even clamping and accurate centering on the mouthpiece. An ergonomically knurled adjustment screw allows precise control of clamping pressure and convenient reed replacement.
YBRATO ligatures are developed and manufactured in Germany, with hand assembly of their components.
