Advantages of the M6-step washers

Please note: two pins, Fender pins and locking models!

• The new M6 pin (with two pins) has an identical housing dimension to the Schaller predecessor model (with one pin). For the exchange from old to new, please see the following picture and the technical drawing at the end of the article description. The correct pin spacing (center-to-center) is 10 mm. 
• Different dimensions to Fender pin tuners:

• On some Fender guitars you will find machine heads that have a pin spacing of 10 mm. However, the distance between the pins and the center of the post varies here: Fender pin 11.7 mm vs. Schaller M6 pin 8 mm! As a rule, our Original F-Series Standard + Locking machine heads are more suitable for Fender instruments, as the distance here corresponds to 11.7 mm (see technical drawing in the article).
• In the configurator, you can choose between our two locking models: Locking (on the housing) or TopLocking (top of post).
• Fitting the TopLocking model: Please unscrew the black, knurled TopLocking sleeve as far as it will go and then pull it off. Install the mechanism on the headstock, press the TopLocking sleeve back onto the post and screw tight.
